If you follow my blogging for a while you know that I’m a fan of automating Linkedin for lead generation. Today I would like to cover a crucial part of Linkedin lead generation: lead nurturing.

The way not to do lead nurturing on LinkedIn is to send a pitch right after the contact request:

Lead nurturing on LinkedIn is not about sending follow-up messages. Linkedin offers few ways to gently nurture your leads without pushing follow-up messages to their inbox:

  • You can invite your connection to an event (I will certainly write an article on the topic later).
  • You can share content to be visible on their newsfeed.

Sharing relevant content is the most effective way to nurture leads on Linkedin. This is a non-intrusive way to stay in the mind of your prospects, and it can be a wonderful conversation starter.

I this article I will showcase 2 hidden gems to leverage Linkedin:

- MissingLettr.

- Filt Pod chrome extension to find relevant hashtags.

Repurposing your blog’s content with MissingLettr

MissingLettr is a nice automation tool, which helps you create LinkedIn content from your blog posts. You just need to enter the url of the blog post you want to use, and MissingLettr will identify the key sentence of your blog post:

Those quotes will then be used to generate a set of LinkedIn posts. Those posts will automatically be posted on Linkedin over the next weeks. So within 5 minutes you can create and schedule weeks of Linkedin content.

This is how a missingLettr post will look like:

Leverage Linkedin hashtag

As you can see above, hashtags are an important part of missingLettr’s posts. While setting up a campaign, missingLettr will recommend you some hashtags:

You also have the option to add hashtags of your choice. I’m using the free chrome extension from filt pod to pick relevant hashtags. When you start writing a hashtag it will recommend relevant hashtags with information about the number of followers:

Why do hashtags matter? Hashtags are an underused feature of Linkedin but it is one of the few ways for your content to reach people outside of your network.

Each hashtag has its own new feeds that people can follow. For example ere is the feed for lead generation : https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/leadgeneration/

If one of your LinkedIn posts gets enough engagement it will get featured on the hashtags feed.

What to expect

Here is a quick overview of the stats I’m getting with my LinkedIn content:

MissingLettr posts are generating fewer views than the organic posts (which I’m writing manually). However, MissingLettr posts have a far greater reach than just sharing someone else posts. Given the low workload associated with missinglettr’s posts, it is a nice way to generate some activity on LinkedIn.

The best days to post on Linkedin are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So I set up missingLettr to post every Wednesday. By having missingLettr every Wednesday I’m sure to have at least one post per week, and I have 2 good days left for manual posts.
